The above newscast starts with a huge understatement: "Well, the motive is unknown..." Not only is this guy's exact motive impossible to know, we can't even offer any suggestions. Who drives by a trailer, with absolutely no idea how to tow said trailer, and just tries driving away with it? You'd have to ask the guy himself. But, hey, we guess crazier things have happened.
Enough about motives. Let's roast this suspected truck thief's towing skills. Driving a Toyota Tacoma, this guy must've played too many video games and literally thought all you had to do to hook up a trailer is back up to it fast enough.
We can't think of another explanation. He comes flying in out of nowhere and slams into the trailer before trying to take off with it. Since physics are a thing, this doesn't work and the roof and tailgate of his truck get totally ruined.
Towards the end of the news piece, the anchor urges anyone who knows anything about this crime to contact the police. Presumably, so the cops can slap the cuffs on the guy then and there, since no one other than the driver himself could know what the heck he was thinking.
We've seen plenty of trailer fails and mishaps over the years, but very few that have gone down right in the middle of a criminal act. So, this suspected truck thief is certainly one of a kind. Not in the way that would make Mom and Dad proud, but we're assuming that ship sailed long ago.
