September 6, 2014 was the night of the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway. Brad Keselowski ended up winning after dominating the majority of the race. Jeff Gordon wound up placing second. After finishing the race (and placing 8th), Jimmie Johnson got taken to the infield care center due to dehydration. Notable rookies in the race were Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon, and Justin Allgaier.

But, it wasn’t the NASCAR drivers or the racing itself that made that night so memorable. What did make the night unforgettable is the moment that a drunk NASCAR fan decided to climb the Turn 4 fence at Richmond and cause an absolutely ridiculous scene.

The whole thing went down on lap 329 during the fourth caution of the night. Clearly, some of the fans were getting restless from all the stopping and starting, so one of the more wasted race fans in attendance decided to take it upon himself to provide some late-race entertainment.

Not all that surprisingly, the drunk fan was promptly arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and being drunk in public.

What a legend! All things considered, this dude’s lucky he didn’t fall off, because that would’ve been a pretty damn terrible way to go.

On top of getting locked up, I’m sure this guy was also slapped with a lifetime ban from Richmond, which to be honest, would be still be worth it. I mean, this guy is part of Richmond lore now. He’s pretty much up there with Richard Petty and Bobby Allison.

So, here’s to you, drunk Richmond guy. May your beer always be cold and your future NASCAR races always be full of drunken race track shenanigans.
