How NOT to Approach a Police Car

I've watched enough episodes of Cops in my day to know that there are plenty of people out there who have absolutely ZERO tact or common sense when it comes to dealing with law enforcement and only make situations worse for themselves by being combative.

These sorts of incidents shouldn't really shock me anymore, but speaking of "shocking," this traffic stop turned tasing session from back in 2015 is proof enough that, when a cop pulls you over, you should usually just stay in your car, wait for the responding officer to come to you, and hand over your driver's license and vehicle registration. One Florida man learned that the hard way.

Per YouTube:

Lawtey Police Officer Jay Raulerson was confronted with a dangerous situation during a call to assist a motorist. Officer Raulerson was notified by passing motorists about a silver Toyota stopped in the median with the driver attempting to wave down vehicles. As he pulled up to render assistance, the subject suddenly exited his vehicle and aggressively approached Officer Raulerson. With literally seconds to decide his response, Officer Raulerson used a less than lethal tactic to bring the situation under control. After further investigation, the subject was taken into custody for a medical evaluation prior to pursuing any criminal charges.

Damn. That dude barely had time to approach the police car before he was zapped with enough voltage to bring down a herd of rhinos. Okay, so the taser wasn't that powerful, but it definitely got the job done. I'd say the perp definitely learned his lesson after that one.
