The Ram 1500 boasts a best-in-class V-8 towing capacity of 12,750 pounds, which would qualify as an incredible spec for any serious truck owner. But, if you ask notorious Twitter troll and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the Ram 1500's towing capacity is nothing more than "puny." Pretty funny, considering that Musk doesn't come off as a guy who really knows what he's talking about when it comes to towing capacity or just trucks in general.

Musk slapped the "puny" label on the Ram 1500 in a Tuesday tweet responding to noted parody account @RamLover69. Since Musk's favorite pastime seems to be interacting with people on Twitter, regardless of whether they're legitimate or parody, he apparently just couldn't resist taking the shot across Ram's bow.

Now, when stacked up against the purported towing capacity of Tesla's upcoming all-electric pickup truck, I guess 12,000 pounds would come off as pretty puny. In a tweet sent back in June 2018, Musk claimed that the truck would have a towing capacity of 300,000 pounds. Yep, that's a three, followed by five zeroes.

Either this guy is completely delusional, or he's saying things just to say them. Honestly, it very well could be a combination of both.

While Tesla claimed back in January that the company's electric pickup might be teased sometime this summer, there is major pressure for the truck to deliver, especially considering that the electric Ford F-150 is currently in the testing phases and the Rivian R1T, dubbed an "electric adventure vehicle," has definitely succeeded in generating serious interest.

With all that in mind, it'd be a real shame if Elon Musk's hyped-up Tesla pickup truck were met with a "puny" reception. Real shame.
