Despite the proven effectiveness of seatbelts when it comes to saving lives and preventing serious injuries, there are people out there who still complain about having to wear them. Hey, maybe you're one of those people. Sure, they can be uncomfortable or even leave small bruises if you get in an accident. Even still, as you hopefully know, the alternative is far worse!

Just watch the below 1998 Ford Expedition crash test video, and you'll see just how important seatbelts really are. As one YouTube commenter points out, "I've met a few anti-seatbelt people in my life. They're always saying "it's safer to be thrown from the wreck!" One look at this video shows how idiotic that idea is." Enough said!

As you can see from the video, the dummies get absolutely RAGDOLLED (pun intended) in this crash test. If you watch the footage from the car's interior, you'll see them getting violently jostled before ejection. And, then, for the grand finale, they go airborne in the craziest way. Now, if we're being honest, the end result does kind of look cool. Almost like a stunt from an action movie or a scene from a video game. That said, this scenario does represent the real-life chaos of what could happen to actual humans in a rollover scenario if they're not properly strapped in. And that, if you think about it, is pretty damn scary.

As the Expedition spins and flips all over the road -- just like any car in that situation would -- you can see how easily a human body can fly out the window and even land in the path of the crash. So, as if this weren't clear yet, just suck up the discomfort and buckle up before that next car trip, whether it's a quick drive to the store or a road trip to grandma's house.
