New York Cop Confiscates Dirt Bike, Then Wipes Out Hard

Live from New York, it's Saturday Night Fail! Ok, so technically this above incident involving a NYPD cop wiping out on a confiscated dirt bike happened on a Sunday afternoon, but you get the point. As the video shows, the whole thing begins with the NYPD officer on a bike that he and other officers found at the intersection of Lenox Avenue and 135th Street in Harlem after it had been abandoned by a man weaving in and out of traffic. That's when everything goes downhill.

Clearly, the cop has no idea what he's doing, and after popping the world's worst wheelie, he runs right through a red light (with no helmet or protective eyewear and on an illegal dirt bike, mind you). The guy barely avoids getting T-boned before losing control of the bike and crashing down HARD on the pavement. Definitely not this cop's best moment, that's for sure. The man loudly taunting him towards the end of the video probably didn't make matters any better. Talk about adding insult to injury.

According to the New York Post, the officer hurt his leg and was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital. Considering he wasn't wearing any sort of protection, he's lucky he didn't end up more banged up than he did. This whole situation thing had a traumatic head injury, or at the very least a concussion, written all over it.

NYPD representatives say that the incident is still under internal review, so who knows what sort of disciplinary action, if any, the officer will face. I'm guessing he'll at least be off of dirt bike confiscation duty for the foreseeable future.
