If you ever find yourself near or around Cokato, Minnesota, then you need to hit up Stockholm Karting Center. This place is the largest go-kart track in the Land of 10,000 Lakes and is only about 50 miles west of the Minneapolis–St. Paul area.

Whether you’re a diehard go-kart enthusiast or just looking for something fun to do with the family, here’s everything you need to know about the Stockholm Karting Center.

With a 0.65-mile, 26-foot wide, 14-turn race track, Stockholm Karting Center is for novice and pro racers, as well as spectators alike. The center is equipped with over 50 pit spots with electrical hookups and 15 garage stalls that can be rented on a year-to-year basis. SKC also comes with a year-round, full-service go-kart retailer, which offers everything from Briggs & Stratton and Honda engines to Bridgestone tires to racing apparel.

The Stockholm Karting Center is also well-known for its SKC racing series. Fun fact: Go-kart racing in Minnesota actually got its start in Cokato with the formation of the Northland Region Karting Association in 1985, while the official SKC facility was constructed in 2001. Drivers such as Donny Schatz and Paul Menard got their start in the NKRA, so races at the track definitely don’t disappoint.

Of course, SKC also offers rental karts, which start at $20 for an 8-minute ride around the track. You just need to be at least 5 years old and 40 inches tall for a chance to participate in the racing festivities. There are three types of karts: Children’s karts (20 MPH), junior karts (30 MPH), and adult karts (40 MPH).
