When it comes to adults being competitive with kids, there are typically two approaches to take: 1) Allow the kid to win and give him or her a false boost in self-esteem 2) Try as hard as you can and absolutely dominate the contest. In this Power Wheels Mustang race from way back in 2009, one guy decided to take the latter approach against a neighborhood kid/wannabe racer.

To be fair, the match-up wasn't a fair one in the slightest, even on top of the massive age and experience gap. While the kid was working with a stock electric Power Wheels, the DIY-savvy dude took an average Power Wheels and swapped out the stock electric motor for a 4-speed manual 110cc pit bike engine. I mean, this is basically the equivalent of a 500-HP sports car racing an actual horse. But, don't just take our word for it. Check out the above footage for yourself!

Despite the total and complete shellacking this kid took in the suburban drag race, he didn't seem to mind all that much. He's just chilling. He's just happy to be there. Slow and steady, as they say.

Sure, it may have taken him a week to get to the other side of the street (we wouldn't know, since the video is only 14 seconds long), but this mini racer is absolutely fine with taking his time in his seriously mismatched ride, eating the dust of the gas-powered Power Wheels. Maybe one day he'll even craft a souped-up toy car of his own, but for now, he's okay with the low and slow approach. And, hey, that's perfectly all right.

Keep on cruising, little dude. Keep on cruising.
