Man Picks a Wild Way to Tow His Fishing Boat

Australians are a fantastically wild and crazy bunch. They're like the Floridians of the Eastern Hemisphere. In the same way that you always know that something good is going to come after that classic "Florida Man" headline, the same can pretty much be said for "Australia Man" stories.

While the good people of the Land Down Under seem to be on a different level than the rest of us, one Australian man even gives your average Aussie a run for their money back in October 2018. This is a guy who was so determined to tow his boat that he didn't let his lack of a pesky driver's license stop him. Meet Shane Swancott.

"Well, I lost me license, and pretty much at the same time, I'd finished fixing up me boat," Swancott told Australia's 9 News. "I was gonna push it down by hand, but then I thought, 'Why not use [a mobility scooter]?'"

That's right. Good ol' Shane used a mobility scooter -- which costs around $400 in Australian dollars -- to tow his boat. What a legend. What an absolute legend. As you can probably imagine, his hilarious stunt got the attention of police pretty quickly.

"I'm sitting at the light, ready to turn, and Highway Patrol just comes past like, 'What the fuck?'" the Aussie man told 9 News. To be honest, I'd say that's a pretty fair reaction to witnessing a guy towing a fishing boat down a bust street with a mobility scooter. But hey, that's just me.

What an absolute legend! Well, like they say in Australia, good on ya, Shane. Good on ya.
