If you miss the good ol' days of NASCAR, then the Labor Day weekend races at Darlington Raceway will definitely make for must-watch television. For both the Cup Series and Xfinity Series races (the Bojangles Southern 500 and Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200, respectively), drivers will be sporting throwback paint schemes. While the specific theme is meant to focus primarily on paint schemes from 1990 to 1994, drivers will be paying tribute to stock cars from all eras.

Take Dale Earnhardt Jr., for example, who will be honoring his late dad as he gets behind the wheel of the No. 8 Chevrolet for his annual one-off Xfinity race. During a Good Morning America appearance back in May, Dale Jr. dished on his Darlington throwback weekend scheme, which will honor a momentous race in Dale Sr.'s career.

"The car is basically a throwback to my dad's 1975 paint scheme, his first race in the [Cup Series] at Charlotte," Earnhardt Jr. said. "I'm really looking forward to it, [we have] a great looking race car and it's the one race I'll run this year. I don't have any plans to race anything after that. Never say never, but this might be the last one."
