While the Bugatti Veyron is held in the highest of high esteem on the drag strip, the Rimac Concept_One definitely knocked it down a peg or two. Back in early 2017, the two supercars squared off behind some orange cones on a cold remote strip of asphalt somewhere in Croatia to settle the score once and for all.

Using the full potential of its torque vectoring system that puts maximum traction on each wheel, the Concept_One launches off the line like a rocket and just does not stop. With four separate electric motors each with its own gearbox, the Concept_One tears out a ridiculous 1073 hp and 1180 lb-ft of torque!

But, as is usually the case with these sort of you-have-see-it-to-believe-it drag races, the Rimac's victory kind of comes with a caveat.

Per Car Throttle:

The Rimac driver reacts noticeably quicker than Lord Pembroke in the Veyron, and it's worth noting the Bugatti's launch control system wasn't used (the video description also states that the car's "traction control didn't like the minus 5 temperatures"). But even so, the less powerful Bugatti - which gives away over 100bhp to the Rimac - sticks with the Croatian electric hypercar the whole way. It's also interesting to see the Concept One spinning its front wheels off the line.

Even considering all the technical specs of both competitors going into the match-up, this still makes for an incredible drag race. If you're gonna obsess over the fine details, then you're clearly missing the point. As long as pure, unadulterated power and speed is involved, then you know it's going to make for one hell of an entertaining experience. So enjoy it!
