NASCAR returns to Sonoma Raceway Friday morning and afternoon to kick off the race weekend. Two series will take on the road course while one will work in the garage.
The ARCA Menards Series West teams will practice, qualify, and race on Friday while continuing the schedule. Xfinity Series teams will practice and qualify while preparing for Saturday afternoon's road course race.
Cup Series teams will have garage hours on Friday ahead of Saturday's practice and qualifying sessions.
The Xfinity Series entry list will feature 39 drivers vying for 38 spots on the starting grid. The majority are Xfinity Series regulars. However, a select group of guest drivers will take part in the road course race while pulling double duty.
The list of guest drivers in Xfinity includes defending winner Shane van Gisbergen (No. 9), Alex Labbe (No. 07), Connor Mosack (No. 14), Riley Herbst (No. 19), Austin Green (No. 32), and Will Rodgers (No. 70).
Van Gisbergen, in particular, will pursue another weekend sweep. He won the Xfinity and Cup Series races in Chicago last weekend while driving for JR Motorsports and Trackhouse Racing, respectively.
Two Xfinity Series drivers will also pull double-duty this weekend while joining the ARCA Menards Series West field. Kaulig Racing's Christian Eckes will drive for team owner Bill McAnally. Joe Gibbs Racing's William Sawalich will drive the team's ARCA entry as he seeks his fourth ARCA West win and 14th in overall ARCA competition.
