Kyle Larson has delivered a near-perfect performance at Kansas Speedway while scoring his 32nd career win.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver started from the pole, led 221 of the 267 laps, and swept the stages. He added the Xfinity Fastest Lap to fully maximize his points day. He also became the first driver in Cup history to lead more than 200 laps at Kansas Speedway.

Christopher Bell crossed the line in second place. Ryan Blaney, Chase Briscoe, Alex Bowman, Josh Berry, Ryan Preece, Chris Buescher, Joey Logano, and John Hunter Nemechek all scored top-10 finishes.
Larson's dominant performance will be what fans remember years down the road, but other things fell his way and made the win possible. The chief example of this is a hard push from Bowman on the final restart, which sent Larson clear of Bell. From that point on, the 2021 Cup Series champion had a smooth cruise to the checkered flag.

The other factors were issues that affected other drivers. Chase Elliott actually took the lead from Larson on pit road after stage 2. He then cleared for the lead to start the final stage. He began to pull away from his Hendrick Motorsports teammate before a caution bunched the field back up.
Elliott led the field down pit road but fell to 12th with a slow pit stop due to the crew dropping the jack too soon. He never cracked the top 10 again before ultimately finishing 15th.
Brad Keselowski also had speed to challenge Larson in the final stage, which he used to pass the Hendrick Motorsports driver. Unfortunately for Keselowski, he blew a tire and slammed into the wall. This ended his race and brought out the caution that derailed Elliott's afternoon.
Larson has now won three races in the first 12 weeks of the season. This is the fifth consecutive season he has won at least three times. He has also tied Dale Jarrett for 29th on the all-time wins list.
