Joe Gibbs Racing makes big sponsor announcement

As more details begin to emerge for the upcoming 2018 season, Joe Gibbs racing just revealed a new sponsor for two of its drivers.

Joe Gibbs Racing announced Thursday, that Rheem will be sponsoring Christopher Bell and Ryan Preece in the NASCAR XFINITY Series in 2018 according to NASCAR.com.

While Rheem may be new to JGR, they're no stranger to NASCAR, with a decade under the belt as a sponsor. Rheem will have Christopher Bell who won the 2017 Camping World Truck Series champion at the wheel of the No. 20 Toyota Camry for 23 races. In addition, they will also have up-and-coming driver Ryan Preece driving the No. 18 Toyota Camry for 10 races.

Rheem has said that they look forward to the partnership with JGR as the company and the racing team have similar values.

"We are delighted to partner with Joe Gibbs Racing," Rheem President and COO Chris Peel said. "Joe Gibbs' life, business accomplishments and his company's values fit well with Rheem's culture of innovation, integrity and philanthropy."

Rheem will be entering its second decade as a sponsor in NASCAR and will be adding two paint schemes. The new designs are an effort to say 'thanks NASCAR fans for allowing us to support the sport you love'.

Joe Gibbs, owner of JGR has shared his excitement for the upcoming partnership between his team and Rheem and reassured that his drivers would represent the company well.

"We're thrilled to partner with Rheem," Gibbs said. "They have built a winning company in their industry with many of the same attributes we hold valuable at our race team."

"Rheem has a long history in our sport and they understand what it takes to be successful," added Gibbs. "We think Christopher and Ryan will represent them well both on and off the track."
