Connor Mosack scores first career pole at Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. -- Connor Mosack will start from the front of the Craftsman Truck Series field for the first time in his career after winning the pole at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The McAnally-Hilgemann Racing driver won the pole Friday afternoon at the Georgia track. His best lap was 31.969 seconds. He will now lead the field to the green flag Saturday afternoon (1:30 p.m. ET) in what will be his 13th start in the Truck Series.

Series veteran Grant Enfinger qualified second with a lap of 32.045 seconds. He was followed by Rajah Caruth (32.122), Jack Wood (32.132), and Jake Garcia (32.145).

Tyler Ankrum (32.155), Stewart Friesen (32.179), defending winner Kyle Busch (32.189), and two-time champion Ben Rhodes (32.194) were the other drivers who secured starting positions inside the top 10.

Mosack, who has spent extensive time in sports car racing, is still learning his way in NASCAR. He has made select starts across the ARCA Menards Series, Craftsman Truck Series, and Xfinity Series while suiting up for an array of teams.

The Charlotte native's busiest season was in 2023 when he made 24 starts, primarily with Sam Hunt Racing. His best finish was fifth at Watkins Glen International.

Mosack has made 12 starts in the Truck Series, most of them last season. He delivered a third-place finish to Spire Motorsports at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The 2025 season marks Mosack's first full-time campaign in any of the national NASCAR series. He joined McAnally-Hilgemann Racing to drive the No. 81 Chevrolet Silverado and compete for Rookie of the Year.

Mosack finished 32nd at Daytona International Speedway to start his rookie season, but he will now aim to surpass that finish after starting from the front of the pack at another drafting track.

The Craftsman Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway will kick off a doubleheader afternoon. The truckers will take on the drafting track at 1:30 p.m. ET (FS1). The Xfinity Series teams will then follow at 5 p.m. ET (CW).
