Truck Series schedule expands, adds new tracks for 2025

NASCAR has released the 2025 schedule for the Craftsman Truck Series, a schedule that includes even more events and new tracks.

This season's Truck Series schedule features 23 races. The number will increase to 25 in 2025. The additional races will land in the regular season as the playoff schedule remains at seven races spread across three rounds.

One of the biggest changes for next season is the addition of a brand-new track. Truck Series teams will take on Lime Rock Park, a 1.5-mile road course in Connecticut, on June 28. This will be one of the final regular-season races as drivers jockey for spots in the playoff field.

Lime Rock Park is not the only road course moving to the Truck Series next season. Watkins Glen International will also join the schedule in August as Truck teams join Xfinity and Cup teams for a tripleheader weekend.

"Watkins Glen International is a challenging and prestigious road course that provides the perfect backdrop for setting up championship opportunities," said Dawn Burlew, president of Watkins Glen International, in a statement.

"In only a couple weeks, fans will get to see Playoff action here for the first time, while next year they'll get to cheer on their favorite drivers as they once again battle it out for a berth in the Playoffs. We're so proud WGI is playing such an instrumental role in NASCAR's championship over these two seasons."

Truck Series teams have competed at Watkins Glen six times since 1996. Ron Hornaday Jr. won the inaugural race. Austin Hill won in 2021.

The Truck Series schedule changes continue with a third road course. The drivers will compete on the Charlotte Roval during the playoffs, marking the first time in NASCAR history that all three series will be at the Concord track on the same weekend.

With the Roval, Watkins Glen, and Lime Rock Park joining the schedule, Circuit of the Americas will fall off. Only Xfinity and Cup Series teams will take on the Texas road course in 2025.

Finally, the other major change announced by NASCAR is the return of Rockingham Speedway. The Truck Series last competed at the North Carolina track in 2012-13 as Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson won races. Now, the series will return while sharing the weekend with the Xfinity Series.
