ARCA Menards Series championship contender Lavar Scott has set the date for his national series debut. He will take on the NASCAR Xfinity Series after signing a multi-race deal.
According to a press release, Scott will join Alpha Prime Racing for two events this summer. He will make his Xfinity Series debut on July 19th at Dover Motor Speedway. He will then make his second career start on Sept. 6 at World Wide Technology Raceway.
Foxxtecca, an experiential media and events company, will join Scott for this two-race deal. The company will be a secondary sponsor for the July race at Dover. The company will then be the primary sponsor at World Wide Technology Raceway.
The event at Dover will mark a double-duty weekend for Scott. He will compete in the ARCA Menards Series race on Friday, July 18, while continuing his pursuit of the championship. One day later, he will make his Xfinity Series debut.
"Making my NASCAR Xfinity Series debut is a huge step forward in my career, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity," Scott said in a press release. "This is a moment I've worked toward for a long time.
"Having the support of Foxxtecca and Alpha Prime Racing means the world to me, not just because they believe in me as a driver, but because they're committed to creating real change in this sport. Together, we're not just racing, we're moving the culture forward, and I'm proud to be a part of that."

Scott is currently in his second full season in the ARCA Menards Series with Rev Racing. Last season, he won Rookie of the Year after posting 15 top-10 finishes and 11 top-fives in the 20-race season. He ended the year second in the championship standings behind teammate Andrés Perez de Lara, who made his Xfinity debut this season in Mexico City.
Scott is back in the mix for the championship this season as he gains experience in the ARCA Menards Series. He has finished inside the top 10 in all nine races this season and top five in six of them. His best finish was third at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
"We've been really lucky to have some great young drivers come through our team, and I'm very excited to be adding Lavar to our roster," said Alpha Prime Racing President Tommy Joe Martins. "He's come through the same development ladder as Rajah (Caruth) with Rev, and you can see how competitive he's been in ARCA the past few seasons at all different types of racetracks.
"And he's got all the intangible stuff, too. Great attitude, work ethic, very humble. He's going to go far. And it's a big deal to me and Caesar (Bacarella, Co-owner of Alpha Prime Racing) to create a team that gives opportunities to drivers like Lavar."
