CONCORD, N.C. -- Austin Green has very little experience in the ARCA Menards Series, but that didn't keep him from delivering a career-defining win at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Green, the son of 1994 Busch Series champion David Green, won Friday night's General Tire 150 in only his second career ARCA Menards Series start. He led 52 laps and built up a lead of 2.569 seconds before taking the checkered flag.
This race was Green's first start in the ARCA Menards Series since the 2020 season when he finished seventh at Toledo Speedway.
Despite having limited experience in the ARCA cars, he avoided the issues that plagued other drivers such as Spencer Gallagher, Tim Richmond, and Brenden Queen. He held off veteran Grant Enfinger in the closing laps to score his first oval win on his home track.

Green grew up competing in the Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He raced Legend Cars and Bandoleros on Charlotte's quarter-mile track.
"It's the greatest," Green told FS1 after doing a massive burnout on the frontstretch. "You know, obviously, getting to race at home and have the success, and let alone win.
"I haven't won in a while, so the last couple of laps, I teared up a little bit. But no, just hats off to everyone at PRG (Pinnacle Racing Group), and Overplay Games. Brought a wicked fast car."
How can this win be career-defining? The simple answer is that Green has made a concerted effort to perform on oval tracks. He is a veteran of the Trans-Am Series, which primarily competes on road courses across North America.
When Green moved to the Xfinity Series on a part-time basis in 2024, he began competing on road courses. He made his debut at Circuit of the Americas and finished seventh. He then competed at Portland, Sonoma, Chicago, and Watkins Glen before making his oval debut at Bristol.
Green has made 11 Xfinity Series starts -- 10 with Jordan Anderson Racing. Only four of these starts have been on oval tracks, so he has limited experience on this style.
And yet, he still held off drivers with far more experience and captured his first win.
