Andrés Perez de Lara has set the date for his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut. He will expand his schedule by competing in the June 14 race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
Pérez de Lara, the reigning ARCA Menards Series champion, will join DGM Racing for the first Xfinity Series race in Mexico City since Kyle Busch's win in 2008. He will race in front of his hometown crowd while driving the No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro.
Pérez de Lara will have Telcel and Infinitum as his primary sponsors for the event.
The opportunity to drive for DGM Racing fits into a break in Pérez de Lara's schedule. He currently competes full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series while driving the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports. The Truck Series teams are idle the week of the Mexico City race, so Pérez de Lara will have the opportunity to gain some experience in another national NASCAR series.

Telcel is a familiar sponsor for Pérez de Lara. The company serves as his full-time sponsor in the Craftsman Truck Series as he battles for Rookie of the Year.
The ARCA champion-turned-Truck driver will be one of two drivers taking advantage of the trip to Mexico. The other will be Monterrey native Daniel Suarez, who will pull double-duty in his home country while driving for JR Motorsports in Xfinity and Trackhouse Racing in Cup.
Hometown ties aside, Pérez de Lara chose a fitting weekend to make his Xfinity Series debut. This is a weekend when he will have multiple practice sessions to gain experience behind the wheel of the No. 91 DGM Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
According to the NASCAR Weekend Schedule, Xfinity drivers will first take on the road course on Friday, June 13. They will have a 50-minute practice session at 2:05 p.m. ET. They will then return to the track for a 25-minute session at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Qualifying for the Xfinity Series race will take place on Saturday, June 14. The Xfinity teams will go out in two groups, starting at 10:30 a.m. ET. The 65-lap race will then take place at 4:30 p.m. ET (CW).
