This Driver Somehow Managed to Get a 15-Foot Tree Lodged in Her Car's Grille

Over the years, we've seen some pretty crazy incidents involving cars crashing into inanimate objects. For some drivers, the struggle is real. Take this real doozy of a muck-up that went down in Chicago back on January 23, 2016, for example.

The case involves 54-year-old Maryann Christy, who was arrested and charged with a DUI after a police officer with the Roselle Police Department noticed something strange sticking out of the front grille of her car. What was that something strange, you ask? A freakin' 15-foot tree.

When police received the call regarding a sedan with a massive tree wedged in the grille, it must have been a head-scratching moment for sure. But, when the officer actually arrived on the scene at Central Avenue and approached Christy, his eyes must have damn near popped out of his skull.

Here's what the incident looked like from the squad car's dashcam footage.

"I've been in law enforcement for 28 years and I've never seen anything like it," Roselle Deputy Chief Roman Tarchala said in a later interview. Now, when someone who's been an officer of the law says something like that, you know this was quite the sight to behold.

It turns out that Christy's troubles didn't end there. Once the site of the DUI crash ended up being located, she was charged with failure to report property damage and damage to public property ON TOP of the DUI. That, folks, is why you don't drink and drive.

The only question remaining is whether or not anyone got to keep the firewood.
