After pop-legend Prince died in 2016, it was discovered that no-one knew of any existing will, causing confusion over what to do with his estate. Where there is no confusion, however, is that the man had unique taste in everything. From his wardrobe to, apparently, his cars.

Jalopnik went through an inventory of his estate and found these vehicles:

  • 1993 Ford Thunderbird

  • 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

  • 1997 Lincoln Town Car

  • 2004 Cadillac XLR Roadster

  • 2010 Mercedes-Benz

  • 2011 Lincoln MKT

  • 1996 BMW Z3 Roadster

  • 2006 Bentley

  • 1985 Cadillac Limo

  • 1999 Plymouth Prowler

  • 1964 Buick Wildcat

  • 1991 BMW 850

  • Buick Electra 225

  • 1984 BMW 633CS

  • “Purple Rain” Motorcycle

  • “Graffiti Bridge” Motorcycle

  • 1995 Prevost Bus

  • Honda Motorcycle

Besides the customs, the “Purple Rain” and the “Graffiti Bridge” motorcycles, the car that screams “Prince” the loudest is not the old land yachts, but the Plymouth Prowler.

Not only is the car  an odd combination of and quirky and stylish, like the man himself, but it came in the most satisfying use of purple on a modern car.

Harkening back to the classic “Plum Crazy Purple,” most advertisements for the Prowler showed it in a nice deep purple. Whatever percentage of Prowlers ended up in this color, it is easily the most famous. And a purple Prowler is the perfect car for a Prince.
