Before you start composing a strongly-worded letter to us, bear in mind that we didn't conduct this study. The results of this study came from the folks at Moneybarn.com, a vehicle finance company located in the UK. And all they did was send out a survey to drivers across the UK, asking the simple question: "Who do you think are the worst drivers on the road?"

Of the 4,000 people surveyed, 39.1% responded that BMW drivers are the absolute pits. That's a substantial number of Beamer haters, especially when you discover that Audi came in second place with a measly 14.1% of the votes, and "White Vans" came in third at 7.9%. "White Vans" aren't even a make or model -- it's just a group of service-oriented vehicles that are apparently very good at inconveniencing and angering 7.9% of Moneybarn readers.

According to BMW Group UK, 234,637 BMW and MINI vehicles were registered in the UK in 2019. The UK Vehicle Licensing Statistics indicated that, by the end of March 2019, there were approximately 31 million licensed passenger cars on the road. Thanks to a free internet calculator tool, our expert mathematicians have uncovered that 0.76% of the licensed vehicles bumping down the roadways of the United Kingdom are brand new BMW and MINIs.

Add in all of the aged models that are clicking their way towards 250,000 lifetime miles, and it seems that the reason BMW drivers are the worst is simply because there are so many of them. In the United States, pickup truck drivers get the crappy street cred, but when you discover that the top three selling vehicles are the Ford F-Series, Chevy Silverado, and Ram 1500, all of the pieces kind of fall into place.
