Lane-Splitting Biker Eats It Hard

Lane splitting on a motorcycle is one of the big advantages of riding a bike through heavy traffic. However, you not only have to be sure you can legally do it (it's only legal in California, by the way), but you have to be EXTREMELY careful. Obviously, as you can see in the above video, not every biker out there is concerned with their state's lane-splitting laws or with motorcycle safety in general. Which, not all that shockingly, can lead to a world of hurt.

These two motorcycle riders were screaming down a highway in Georgia while illegally weaving in and out of lanes of traffic. Sure enough, disaster strikes. They are moving entirely too fast when a car in front of them decides to change lanes. In the process of the driver changing lanes, the first biker can't correct in time and completely eats bumper and flies over his handle bars!

Now, after his unfortunate dust-up, this dude is probably in the market for a new bike. On top of that, it probably wouldn't hurt to invest in some quality gear while he's at it. You can never go wrong with a good pair of gloves, like these Alloy Steel Outdoor Gloves Motorcycle Powersports Racing Gloves from ILM.

For extra protection, he could also pick up a Protective Motorcycle Jacket from Borleni.

Of course, you can't forget about having a top-of-the-line motorcycle helmet. The Motorcycle Full Face Helmet from WOW will definitely get the job done on that front.

Now, all that safety equipment is pretty worthless if this guy continues to push the limits of recklessness. Fortunately for him, the biker only sustained a broken wrist in the lane-splitting accident, but if he hopes to continue his motorcycle riding days without any serious injuries, he should probably put an end to his reckless habit of splitting lanes on the highway. Or, at the very least, move to California.
