Pickup Driver Makes Ill-Advised Turn and Gets T-Boned

Now, this is a bad day for both parties, though it goes to show just how important it is to stay alert to everything around you while on the road.

This Mitsubishi Triton driver made a pretty poor choice, and the collision that occurred shortly after resulted in it landing on its roof. Check out the video below to see how quickly it all happens.

The crash took place on the Princes Highway in Heathcote, New South Wales, Australia. During some pretty heavy traffic, the truck driver was attempting to make a right turn across opposite lanes. While two of those lanes were occupied by stopped cars, the visual of the third lane was blocked by a big cargo truck. The Triton driver decides to go for it anyway, but quickly regrets that decision after another car comes up the third lane at that same moment. The car slammed right into the driver door of the truck, causing it to roll over and stop on its roof.

One thing you should never do as a driver is assume the lane isn't occupied just because you can't see past a vehicle. One thing I did notice and I have to mention from this video is just how many people stopped to help the drivers out after the crash happened. It almost appears as if the whole neighborhood came out to lend a hand. Hell, with that many people, they probably could have flipped the truck back on its wheels just by pushing.

The crash looked pretty bad, but it seems as if the drivers made it out of this one all right, despite the direct hit on the truck's driver-side door. Nothing a little insurance won't be able to fix. No one wants to be in a situation such as this, so always remember to pay attention when you get behind the wheel.
