Yet another reason why it pays to have a dashcam in your vehicle. This particular event happened in Australia, and I have to admit, it's pretty hilarious to see this driver's plan blow up in his face like this. I'd chalk that one up as a big, fat fail.

The driver with the dashcam was just going about his day with his family, waiting to move in a parking lot. The driver behind him was also completely stopped, and, out of nowhere, he decides to move forward and ram into the back of the truck. It only gets worse from there, because after the two drivers get out to talk to one another, the driver of the car in back tries to claim that he reversed into him. After being informed that the truck has a camera, it's safe to assume he realized he made a big mistake.

This is a classic example of insurance fraud. However, while most people don't have a way to prove the other driver is lying, this guy was smart enough to have a rear-facing camera. I will admit, his reaction to the whole ordeal was about as funny as watching the other guy's failed fraud attempt. The amount of curse words he used in a single sentence was both impressive and accurate. You have to love Australians and their lack of filters.

This guy just completely proved his innocence, because he was sporting the Blackvue DR650-2CH dash camera. You never really know when you're going to need one, but believe me when I say that you'll be glad you have one when you do need it. There are various types you can get as well, at all price points. I can't say I have much sympathy for people who try and scam others out of money, so I'm glad to see that one offender got caught red-handed.
