"Welcome to Texas, y'all."

That's all the guy filming the above video really needed to say, as he witnessed a man using gas from a gas pump to clean off his seemingly already clean car. You definitely don't see that every day! Or, really, any day, if you're 99% of the population.

When it comes to using gasoline as a cleaning agent, it seems like this probably wasn't this older gentleman's first rodeo. But, the video's uploader was more than a little bit taken aback by the whole thing, as he also makes known in the video's description.

"A man at a North Texas gas station is creating a huge fire hazard by using gasoline from the pump to clean his car after filling us his tank," the description reads. "The location was Dallas at a Quik Trip. It happened in the late afternoon. Absolutely insane and for no good reason. The car looked even dirtier afterward. Has anyone ever seen this been done before? Extremely dangerous and horrible for the environment."

Sure, using gas to clean off grime and gunk from your ride isn't necessarily a conventional car care technique, but it doesn't mean the guy is an absolute off-his-rocker lunatic, either. As several YouTube commenters point out, gasoline is actually a pretty effective agent for removing oil or any road tar that slings up from the tires to the paint.

Then again, doing all this at a gas station probably isn't the most responsible way to go about the entire process. This seems more like a stay-at-home project, if you ask me. But, hey, like our guy said, "Welcome to Texas, y'all." Gotta love the Lone Star State!
