NASCAR driver breathes a sign of relief, gets sponsorship extension

In this day and age of NASCAR dreams finding sponsorship money hard to  come by, anytime a team gets a major sponsor signed up, it's big news.

Roush Fenway Racing announced a contract extension with sponsor SunnyD through the 2019 season.

SunnyD will continue sponsoring Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The company will be a primary sponsor, but the exact number wasn't revealed.

Stenhouse released a video promoting the new announcement and SunnyD.

Stenhouse said in a statement that he's excited about continuing the partnership.

"We've had a great time partnering with SunnyD the last two years," Stenhouse said. "It's one of the coolest paint schemes on the track, and we've had a lot of fun promoting their classic brand. I'm excited that we have extended our relationship, and I can't wait to see how much fun we can have with SunnyD in victory lane."

Stenhouse has two wins this season, and he will be in the postseason. The owners of SunnyD called Stenhouse a "rising stars" in the sport, and they said they are excited to continue their partnership with Roush Fenway Racing.
