A veteran's organization that provides job assistance to military vets, American Veterans, had a message for NFL fans. Using the simple hashtag, #PleaseStand, the organization aimed to encourage people to stand for the national anthem in a Super Bowl commercial.

The NFL, however, had other ideas. According to Yahoo Sports, the ad was rejected because the Super Bowl has, "never been a place for advertising that could be considered by some as a political statement."

NASCAR, on the other hand, is taking no issue with the campaign, and is letting driver Clay Greenfield plaster #PleaseStand all over his red, white and blue truck for the Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona.

Greenfield reached out to American Veterans after hearing about the NFL refusing to run the ad.

"I just am a big supporter of our veterans and our military and I kind of felt like they were being shafted a little so I wanted to do what I could to help make up and support our veterans and military," Greenfield said via Yahoo Sports. "And it's not like I'm doing this out of a grudge or anything. Almost every truck I've ever had since 2010 has had an American flag on it somewhere. I felt like it was a good opportunity to showcase those guys and what they're all about."
