Erik Jones does a first-class job honoring the drivers who came before him

Erik Jones is scoring big time points and the NASCAR season hasn't even started.

The newest member of Joe Gibbs Racing paid honor to prior drivers of the #20 by tweeting out a video in which he acknowledges he's got "big shoes to fill." That's an understatement. Two of the three previous drivers, Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth, combined for 48 victories and two Cup Championships. Kenseth was the most recent driver of the #20 and found himself the odd man out when JGR had to bring rising star Jones back from being on loan to Furniture Row Racing in 2017.

Stewart and Kenseth are two of the biggest names to pilot the #20 in the last 20 years, but Joey Logano, Ricky Craven, and Randy LaJoie are some names to also sit in the seat.

New JGR teammate Kyle Busch loved the tweet with a tweet of his own.

"Loving this! Great work paying tribute to those before you. Looking forward to working with you teammate and seeing what you got!" wrote Busch.

The addition of Jones to the Joe Gibbs Racing team of Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Daniel Suarez gives JGR four of the most talented drivers in Cup racing for 2018.
