Tis’ the season for all things associated with the holidays, and one of those is an influx in package deliveries.
It’s commonplace to see parcel delivery people out and about, even more so with Christmas around the corner. They deliver packages of all shapes and sizes, items from TV’s to appliances, to clothing and toys for the kids.
But one specific courier delivered much more than than the homeowner bargained for, according to New York Post.
Upon Sacramento resident Nemy Bautista arriving home, he noticed what he believed to be dog feces. So, being an inquisitive person, he checked his surveillance footage to see if he could find the culprit. To his dismay, there was no puppy involved, but an Amazon delivery woman, squatted behind the door of a van, leaving a package of her own at the bottom of his driveway.
Bautista contacted Amazon immediately to file a complaint. Within a few hours, a supervisor of the driver arrived at Bautista’s home, but less than prepared to deal with the package issue.
“I wanted Amazon to come clean it up,” Bautista said. He also noted that he narrowly missed the delivery by a few minutes.
“He didn’t have any gloves, nothing,” Bautista said. “He grabbed a plastic bag to scoop it up and I told him he couldn’t put it my trash can.”
“I didn’t want it stinking up my can,” he added.
Bautista allowed the man to leave it beside the trash can, after he asked permission to do so. Bautista eventually tossed it into the trash.
Amazon apologized for the issue and offered Bautista a gift card for the inconvenience. He was also told that the driver had been dealt with, but it uncertain as to what actions were taken.
