Martin Truex Jr. is now among the biggest names in NASCAR history.
Truex Jr. became just the 12th driver in the modern NASCAR era, since 1972, to lead for 2,000 laps in a season, according to NASCAR.com. That's some accomplishment. But he still has a long way to go before matching some of the others.
Darrell Waltrip and Cale Yarborough each led for more than 2,000 laps in a season an insane seven times! For single season dominance, how about Bobby Allison's 1972, when he led for 4,343 laps?
Who are the others? Here's the info from NASCAR's files.
