We all know the old saying, "There is no replacement for displacement," but as technology has advanced, engineers have been able to squeeze more and more power out of smaller engines. Nissan, Mazda, McLaren, Mercedes and Mitsubishi all have engines on this list. The obvious downside to the turbocharging or rotary setups is a lack of torque and added complexity, but you can't argue with the power numbers achieved by these tiny engines.
