Now this is some crash. In a crash test, a car safety organization sent a 1998 and 2015 Toyota Corolla barreling into each other, with the simple goal of showing how far car safety has come. Jalopnik had all the details.

The test was organized by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program, the safety advocate for Australia and New Zealand, and it took place at the fourth United Nations' Global Road Safety Week.

The cars went crashing into each other at 40 miles per hour, and it's not surprising that the newer model crushed the older one. As Jalopnik explained, the 1998 Australian Corollas didn't have air bags and sustained "catastrophic structural damage," while the 2015 got a five-star crash test rating.
