When you buy a new Camaro ZL1 you're buying a 650 horsepower track monster. So what does it mean when you add the 1LE option?

Motor Trend wanted to find out so they got their hands on a brand new Sixth generation Camaro ZL1 1LE. Then they proceeded to beat the ever living hell out of the car on the road and two different tracks.

Host Jonny Lieberman, starts off in North central Washington state and shows us what it's like to have a stretch of twisty gorgeous mountain roads all to himself. Little hint, the accelerator pedal was never any less than half throttle.

He coincidentally runs into pro race car driver Randy Pobst, who's hitch hiking on the side of the road. He willingly hands the keys over and Randy continues on with the thrashing of GM's latest and greatest.

They make their way over to a new racetrack in Osoyoos, Canada called area 27. There, Randy rants and raves about the 1LE and then casually sets a record lap time for area 27. In fact he beats out the GM engineer who originally set the lap at the Nurburgring track in the ZL1 1LE.

After all this Lieberman challenges Randy to set a hot lap at Mazda Speedway Laguna Seca in California.
