Zac Brown teams up with Kyle Larson for NASCAR playoff race

Kyle Larson is going country during the playoff race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in October. He is teaming up with multi-time Grammy-winning group, the Zac Brown Band.

According to a Hendrick Motorsports announcement, Larson will ditch the blue HendrickCars.com scheme to kick off the Round of 8 of the playoffs. He will show up at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a black No. 5 Chevrolet featuring chrome gold logos and numbers.

The Chevrolet will have HendrickCars.com logos on the sides, but it will have the Zac Brown Band logo on the hood. This will help the band promote their upcoming limited run at The Sphere in Las Vegas. This stretch of shows kicks off on Dec. 5. It continues with performances on Dec. 6, Dec. 12, and Dec. 13.

NASCAR fans who want to attend the Zac Brown Band shows at The Sphere can get early access to tickets, courtesy of Hendrick Motorsports. They can use the code "Hendrick" at the Zac Brown Band website to unlock the presale.

"A little different than our normal blue, Rick's blue," Larson said when Hendrick Motorsports revealed the scheme in Chicago. "Dang. That chrome gold looks good."

The site of the reveal featured a crossover between NASCAR and the platinum-selling group. The Zac Brown Band performed a concert for the fans in Chicago after Shane van Gisbergen won the Xfinity Series race.

This marked yet another appearance at a NASCAR event. The group previously performed before the 2010 Budweiser Shootout and before the 2013 Daytona 500.

Now, the group will prepare to see their logo racing around a track where Larson has considerable success. This intermediate track was the site of Larson's first win in the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. It kicked off a 10-win season that ended with him capturing the Cup Series championship.

Larson has since won two more Cup Series races at the Nevada track. The win in 2023 put him into the Championship 4. The win in the 2024 spring race put him into the playoffs.

Las Vegas is also the last track where Larson last ran a flat black scheme. He showed up to the 2021 playoff race with a flat black car featuring Tarlton & Sons logos. He won the pole and led 95 laps before ultimately finishing 10th overall.
