NASCAR weekend schedule, forecast for Michigan

The NASCAR season schedule continues this weekend as two of the national series head to Michigan International Speedway.

Xfinity Series teams will return to action after a three-week break. They will compete on Saturday afternoon at the two-mile track. Cup Series teams will compete on Sunday afternoon as the end of the regular season approaches.

ARCA Menards Series teams are also at Michigan. They will compete on Friday evening to kick off the weekend schedule.

John Hunter Nemechek is the defending winner of the Xfinity race at Michigan. Chris Buescher is the defending winner of the Cup race at Michigan. Ford Performance drivers have won nine straight Cup races at Michigan.

Michigan International Speedway forecast and schedule

Friday forecast: Scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. A high of 79 degrees and a 45% chance of rain at the start of Xfinity qualifying. A high of 78 degrees and a 38% chance of rain at the start of the ARCA race.

Saturday forecast: Rain showers early with scattered thunderstorms later in the day. A high of 73 degrees and a 56% chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race.

Sunday forecast: Cloudy skies with rain showers later in the day. A high of 74 degrees and a 33% chance of rain at the start of the Cup race.
