NASCAR Truck, Xfinity schedule at Texas Motor Speedway


The NASCAR weekend at Texas Motor Speedway kicks off on Friday with two national series getting on track.

The Craftsman Truck Series teams will practice, qualify, and race at the 1.5-mile track while returning from the off-week. Xfinity Series teams will practice and qualify while setting the lineup for Saturday afternoon's race.

Friday, May 2, schedule (Eastern Time)

  • 9:30 a.m. -- Truck Series garage hours
  • 12 - 7:30 p.m. -- Xfinity Series garage hours
  • 2 - 7 p.m. -- Cup Series garage hours
  • 2:35 - 3:30 p.m. -- Truck Series practice (No TV)
  • 3:40 - 4:30 p.m. -- Truck Series qualifying (No TV)
  • 5:05 - 6 p.m. -- Xfinity Series practice (CW app)
  • 6:10 - 7 p.m. -- Xfinity Series qualifying (CW app)
  • 8 p.m. -- Truck Series race (167 laps, 250.5 miles. FS1, radio coverage on NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)

Entry lists: The Truck Series entry list only features 32 drivers, so all will make the show. The list of guests includes Brandon Jones at Tricon Garage, Nick Sanchez at Spire Motorsports, Carson Hocevar at Spire Motorsports, and Stefan Parsons at Young Motorsports.

Xfinity Series qualifying, for comparison, will send two drivers home early. Forty vehicles are on the entry list, but only 38 will make the race.

Multiple guest drivers will be in the lineup for Saturday's race. Riley Herbst will return to the No. 19 for Joe Gibbs Racing while Katherine Legge will continue to gain experience with Jordan Anderson Racing. CJ McLaughlin and Josh Bilicki will both drive for DGM Racing x Jesse Iwuji Motorsports.

Kyle Larson will be a new addition to the Xfinity Series lineup at Texas. He will drive the No. 88 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports as Connor Zilisch recovers from a lower back injury sustained last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.
