Since the birth of NASCAR 70 years ago, there have been a whole host of phenomenal drivers who have, in one way or another, made their mark on the sport of professional auto racing. You could fill encyclopedias with the on-the-track feats of NASCAR’s biggest legends, so, needless to say, picking only four drivers for a NASCAR dream team would without a doubt be a challenge.

But, in a recent video put out by NASCAR, Chevrolet drivers Austin Dillon, Chase Elliott, Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray, and Ryan Newman were tasked with doing exactly that. How do you think their dream teams turned out?

In case you don’t feel like going through all the trouble of watching a one-minute video, we broke down each team here.

Team Austin Dillon

1. Dale Earnhardt

2. Jimmie Johnson

3. Richard Petty

4. Cale Yarborough

As far as overall records and career accolades go, Dillon probably has the most solid team here, with David Pearson just barely missing the cut.

Team Chase Elliott

1. Jimmie Johnson

2. Bill Elliott

3. Darrell Waltrip

4. Davey Allison

Smart move for Chase to pick Dad for his dream team. Otherwise, he’d probably have some serious explaining to do.

Team Kasey Kahne

1. Kevin Harvick

2. Chase Elliott

3. Ryan Blaney

4. Dale Earnhardt

Not the best list of all time, but we’ll give Kasey a pass here, considering that he’s retiring next year.

Team Jamie McMurray

2. ?

3. ?

4. ?

Come on, man, at least try.

Team Ryan Newman

1. Kyle Larson

2. AJ Foyt

3. Mario Andretti

4. Tony Stewart

This showing from Ryan Newman is definitely a little out there, but hey, at least he gave it a shot, unlike Jamie McMurray.

Now that you’ve seen who some of NASCAR’s current stars recruited, who would you pick to be on your NASCAR dream team?
