The time has come for two bonus programs to end for the season. The Triple Truck Challenge and the Dash 4 Cash will both conclude during the race weekend at Rockingham Speedway.
The Craftsman Truck Series will be the first to close out the bonus program for the year. The Truck Series regulars will race for the final $50,000 bonus that goes to the highest finisher.
The Triple Truck Challenge began in 2019. Drivers have combined to win $1,050,000.
Daniel Hemric won the opening Triple Truck Challenge race, which took place at Martinsville Speedway. He locked up $50,000 and an opportunity to increase his money by winning another Triple Truck Challenge event.
Chandler Smith then scored his bonus money last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. He posted his first win of the season and his first with Front Row Motorsports.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will then close out the Dash 4 Cash on Saturday evening with a 250-lap race. Four eligible drivers will battle for the final $100,000 bonus. This is the 17th season of the Dash 4 Cash. $6,225,000 has been awarded to eligible drivers since 2009.
The four drivers going for the Dash 4 Cash this weekend at Rockingham are Justin Allgaier, Carson Kvapil, Brandon Jones, and Sammy Smith.
Allgaier has two Dash 4 Cash wins this season. He captured the opening race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He then finished third last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. The other eligible drivers were Austin Hill in 24th, Brennan Poole in 36th, and Sheldon Creed in 37th.
Hill is the only other driver this season to win a Dash 4 Cash event. He won the Xfinity race at Martinsville Speedway and locked up the $100,000 bonus. He missed out on the cut for the final Dash 4 Cash event due to his finishing position at Bristol.
Kvapil put himself in the Dash 4 Cash by finishing second in last weekend's race behind Kyle Larson, a non-eligible driver. Allgaier automatically locked up his spot by winning the bonus money at Bristol.
Smith and Jones put themselves in contention for the bonus money by finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
"I mean, that's awesome," Jones told AltDriver about qualifying for the Dash 4 Cash. "I was sad after (winning) at Darlington. I was happy, but I was like, 'Of course, we're on a weekend where we don't do Dash 4 Cash.'"
