Rockingham weekend schedule, forecast for NASCAR return


Rockingham Speedway returns this weekend as two national NASCAR series celebrate a historic weekend.

Craftsman Truck Series teams will take on The Rock on Friday evening. Xfinity Series teams will have track time on both Friday and Saturday.

ARCA Menards Series East teams will also be at Rockingham Speedway this weekend. This is the second race of the ARCA East season.

Craftsman Truck Series teams have competed at The Rock two times (2012-13). Kasey Kahne won the inaugural Truck Series race at the North Carolina track. Kyle Larson won in 2013.

Xfinity Series teams competed 42 times at The Rock. The last Xfinity race there was in 2004. Jamie McMurray won, his fourth consecutive trip to victory lane at the track.
