Kyle Larson wants it all -- for this weekend, anyway.
On Wednesday, Larson won the A-Main sprint car race at Knoxville Nationals in Iowa, which means he's headed for a career first -- racing Saturday night in the main event.
But there's just one problem -- Larson is supposed to race at the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend, held at Michigan International Speedway this weekend.
Could he do both? He sure wants to, and said he's going to talk to NASCAR team owner Chip Ganassi.
"I've definitely got to have the conversation with him for sure," Larson told the Des Moines Register. "Listen, I want to so bad. I've never been this good in a sprint car in my career."
NBC Sports noted this is how Larson can pull it off:
Final cup practice ends at Michigan about 12:20 p.m. Hope a private plane for a roughly two-hour flight to Knoxville and make it in time for hot laps, which start about 7:45 p.m. (with the main event following). Then scamper back to Michigan in time for the 3 p.m. Sunday start.
I'm tired just writing that.
Will it happen? Ganassi will have a big say in whether it does.
