Kaulig Racing has added another driver to the fold as it continues to fill out the No. 11 Chevrolet Camaro's schedule. The team has joined forces with a Supercars champion for a trip to the West Coast.
Speedcafe reported on Aug. 1 that champion Will Brown had landed a surprise opportunity to drive for Kaulig Racing. The team then confirmed the news on Aug. 6 with a post on social media and said that Brown will drive for them at Portland International Raceway.
The Xfinity Series will take on the Oregon road course on Saturday, Aug. 30, while the Craftsman Truck Series and Cup Series teams take on Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.

Brown has made two previous starts in NASCAR, both in the Cup Series. He joined Richard Childress Racing at Sonoma Raceway last season but dealt with persistent electrical issues throughout the race.
He then joined Kaulig Racing for the Cup Series race in Chicago this season. Brown did not make it past the second lap due to a multi-car crash kicked off when Carson Hocevar tagged two walls in Turn 10. This incident also collected Austin Dillon, Brad Keselowski, Daniel Suarez, Todd Gilliland, and Riley Herbst.
The Aug. 30 race at Portland International Raceway will mark Brown's second trip to the West Coast but his first start in the second-tier Xfinity Series. He will have to adapt to a different style of car as he tries to turn in a strong performance.
"Very excited to be racing NASCAR again with (Kaulig Racing)," Brown posted on X. "Looking forward to having a crack at the Xfinity Series."
Brown will not be the only Supercars veteran joining the Xfinity Series lineup for the trip to Portland International Raceway. Jack Perkins will return to Joe Gibbs Racing for his second start of the season.
Perkins previously controlled the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra on the streets of Chicago, where he qualified fifth. However, he finished 32nd after sustaining significant damage early in the race. Contact from Sammy Smith in Turn 6 sent Perkins into the wall.
Having these two Supercars veterans competing during the West Coast trip is fitting considering their shared history. Brown and Perkins shared an Erebus Motorsport entry during multiple Bathurst 1000s. They also shared a car during the 2023 Sandown 500.
