Juan Pablo Montoya has been racing in one series or another for more than 20 years.

He's competed in the IndyCar Series, Formula 1, and NASCAR's Xfinity and Cup Series. His well-rounded skill set makes him one of the best drivers in the world.

Montoya returned to an all too familiar place this week at Daytona International Speedway, but not as a driver -- he's his son Sebastian's mechanic, according to the Daytona Beach News Journal.

Sebastian is climbing his way through the ranks of the go-kart circuit and he's doing so with his dad's help on the car. Sebastian finished third in his first race of the week, then in his next start took the checkered flag on a course located inside the speedway's infield.

"Some dads and sons go fishing," Sebastian said. "For us, it's go-karting. This is fun."

Juan Pablo is there in full support of his son, even braving some rare cold weather on the central Florida coast.

"Sebastian has been racing about five years," Juan Pablo said. "I'm here as his mechanic, I do everything."

Juan Pablo said that Sebastian has his own mechanic when he travels with a team, but he enjoys the bond with his son when he gets to help him with his go-kart.
