A new NASCAR team announces it will race this season

As the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season is set to get underway in two weeks at the Nextera Energy Resources 250, there will be a familiar face suiting up for a new team.

Jordan Anderson has raced in 57 races over the past four seasons, but this year he'll be hitting the track for his own team -- Jordan Anderson Racing, according to

Anderson ran nearly the entire 2017 season with one truck, but this season he'll have the luxury of a four-truck fleet as his disposal. The team will have four employees including himself and they'll be based out of the Niece Motorsports shop with longtime sponsorship from Bommarito Automotive Group, LTi Printing, Jacob Companies and Knight Fire Protection still in place.

"It's a new chapter, for sure," Anderson said. "It's a long way from where we were last year, but it's a new chapter, a new journey for us."

"It's going to have its own set of challenges, but I'm excited to see what we can do this year," added Anderson.

When Anderson made the announcement earlier this week he was joined by friends, family, and sponsors. He also announced that although he's the team owner he'll be the one behind the wheel for the 23-race season.

Of the four trucks he'll be competing in a Toyota on superspeedways and two Chevys and a Ford for the remainder of the schedule. The trucks will sport the No. 3 as a nod to NASCAR legend Junior Johnson.

"That's a legacy on its own that hopefully we can start a new legacy with this number with our team this year," Anderson said. "Junior, that was my guy."

"He did whatever it took to keep things going, and hopefully we'll do some things like he did with his team back in the day," Anderson added.

In his 57 Truck Series races, Anderson has never cracked the top-10 so this is his chance to make some noise. Now Anderson will get his shot at Daytona to show us exactly what Jordan Anderson racing brings to the field.
