Ryan Newman had an altercation with a legend after being eliminated from the playoffs

Being eliminated from the playoffs can make anyone a little cranky. Whether or not that factored in to this altercation is unclear, but whatever happened, Ryan Newman was not happy.

At the start of the clip, Newman calls after Jeff Gordon about a comment he made. Apparently Gordon told him, "Thanks for the help," and Newman didn't like his tone. Gordon maintains his innocence but clearly Newman thinks there was more to it.

As far as post race incidents go, this one is pretty mild. But it is notable that Newman was so miffed at someone who wasn't even out there on the track.

A sarcastic, "Thanks for the help," is a pretty small offence compared to what these guys are used to on the track.
