CW Sports partners with two Joe Gibbs Racing drivers

The CW Network is joining forces with two Joe Gibbs Racing drivers to promote its coverage of the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

NASCAR's broadcast partner, which begins its coverage at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 20, has agreed to a deal with Sheldon Creed and Ty Gibbs. Creed will feature a CW Sports scheme on the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway as he continues to seek his first win of the season.

Gibbs will follow with a CW sports scheme on the No. 54 Toyota Camry. He will showcase the orange and black scheme at Watkins Glen International on Sept. 15th.

"We're honored to help usher in a new era of the Xfinity Series with The CW," said Steve de Souza, Executive Vice President of Xfinity Series and Development for JGR, in a statement.

"We're looking forward to assisting our great fanbase in making the transition to our new partners at The CW. There's no shortage of compelling storylines and great racing in our series and we're all looking forward to the enthusiastic and dedicated coverage that our new partners will bring to every race."

The deal between CW Sports and NASCAR will officially begin in 2025 as the over-the-air network provides coverage of every Xfinity Series practice session, qualifying session, and race. This deal, which includes digital media content, extends through the 2031 season.

CW Sports will actually have a soft launch this season to set the stage for the future. The broadcast network agreed to a deal with NBC Sports, which moves the final eight races of the Xfinity Series season to the CW Network.

CW Sports will take over coverage of the races with Bristol Motor Speedway, but NBC Sports personnel will still run the booth. Rick Allen will continue to do play-by-play for the second-tier series while Steve Letarte and Jeff Burton join him in the booth to provide analysis.
