Kyle Larson, who will attempt The Double on Sunday, qualified second with a lap of 29.552 seconds. This will put him in a prime position to gain stage points early as he tries to maintain his lead in the Cup Series standings.

Larson was followed by William Byron (29.566), Chris Buescher (29.660), AJ Allmendinger (29.684), John Hunter Nemechek (29.725), Ty Gibbs (29.747), Noah Gragson (29.809), Alex Bowman (29.814), and Christopher Bell (29.815).

Ross Chastain did not complete a qualifying lap. He blew a tire and crashed into the outside SAFER barrier. This prematurely ended a session in which he was the fastest in 10, 15, and 20-lap average speed. He will start last in the 40-car field.

Chastain was not the only driver who experienced issues at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Carson Hocevar spun during his qualifying lap. He avoided contact with the wall and crossed the line. However, his lap time was a mere 36.144 seconds, which put him in 39th place for the start of the crown jewel race.

Kyle Busch, who announced his return to Richard Childress Racing for 2026, was the only driver who failed to complete a lap during practice at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday.

He began to exit pit road at the start of practice but reported steering issues on the No. 8. Busch returned to his designated stall, where Richard Childress Racing crews spent the entire session trying to diagnose the issue.

Busch was able to head out onto the track for his qualifying session. He qualified 24th with a lap of 30.043 seconds.
