4x IMSA champ Jordan Taylor joins NASCAR for Lime Rock Park

The Craftsman Truck Series lineup has added a new driver. Four-time IMSA champion Jordan Taylor will make his series debut while taking on Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.

According to a press release, Taylor will join forces with Spire Motorsports for the event. He will drive the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado with Gainbridge as his primary partner. This will mark his first start in a national NASCAR series since the 2023 season.

"I'm eager to join Spire Motorsports for the LiUNA 150," Taylor said in a press release. "I have spoken with a few members of the team for a few years now, so it's great things have finally come together. I know it's going to be tough jumping into the series mid-season, but I know I am joining one of the top teams in the Craftsman Truck Series.

"Our Gainbridge Chevrolet Silverado will for sure be competitive, I just hope I can adapt to the truck quickly on the short weekend. Lime Rock Park is a track I know really well, but obviously all my experience around there is in much different types of cars, so I'm looking forward to the new challenge."

Taylor previously made one start in the Cup Series for Hendrick Motorsports while replacing an injured Chase Elliott. He qualified fourth at Circuit of the Americas but finished 24th after a chaotic race featuring multiple overtime attempts.

Taylor made two Xfinity Series starts for Kaulig Racing. He competed at Portland International Raceway and the Charlotte Roval while driving the No. 10 and No. 11 Chevrolets.

The IMSA veteran will get his opportunity to compete in the Truck Series for the first time as the three national series take on two different tracks. Xfinity Series and Cup Series teams will spend two days at Atlanta Motor Speedway while Truck Series teams will compete at the Connecticut road course for the first time.

Taylor will not be the only driver making his series debut at Lime Rock Park. Thomas Annunziata will also join Spire Motorsports while driving the No. 07. William Lambros will join Reaume Brothers Racing while driving the No. 2. Wesley Slimp will join Halmar Friesen Racing while driving the No. 62.

The entry list will also feature Brent Crews returning to Tricon Garage and the No. 1. Josh Bilicki will join Niece Motorsports for the first time while driving the No. 44. ThorSport Racing will have Supercars veteran Cam Waters in the No. 66.
