Xfinity New Hampshire lineup after rain washes out qualifying

Cole Custer will lead the Xfinity Series field to the green flag for Saturday afternoon's race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Rain at the 1.058-mile track washed out Friday evening's qualifying session, so NASCAR set the starting lineup using its metric. This formula takes into account the previous event on the schedule.

The driver's fastest lap is 15% of the formula, the driver's finishing position is 25%, the owner's finishing position is 25%, and the owner's points position is 35%.

Chandler Smith will join Custer on the front row for the start of Saturday's race (3:30 p.m. ET on USA Network). Sam Mayer, Riley Herbst, Sheldon Creed, Sammy Smith, Corey Heim, Parker Kligerman, Ryan Sieg, and Matt DiBenedetto will all start inside the top 10.

Christopher Bell, who pursues his fourth Xfinity win at New Hampshire in his fourth start, will line up 23rd. He will be next to Parker Retzlaff on the 12th row.

Alex Bowman, the other Cup driver pulling double duty this weekend, will line up 37th. He will be next to Carson Kvapil on the last row.

Jade Buford was the lone driver who did not qualify for the 38-car Xfinity field.

This is the second consecutive week that Xfinity teams were unable to take part in qualifying. Rain at Iowa Speedway forced NASCAR to cancel the session last weekend. Austin Hill led the field to the green flag for that event.

Custer, the reigning champion, remains winless in Xfinity competition this season. He still leads the points after accumulating six top-five finishes, 12 top-10s, and two stage wins. Chandler Smith, who has two wins this season, is one point behind Custer.
