NASCAR reportedly close to announcing major news

NASCAR's sponsorship outlook has been bleak this season, but now, it appears it may be finally catching a break.

Based on a serious of tweets from Sports Business Journal, NASCAR is in talks with the giant home improvement company, HomeAdvisor, to become a sponsor for the sports.

According to the tweets, NASCAR and Home Advisor are discussing whether the company will be a sponsor for a specific team or start on the business side. With some of the sports top drivers, like Kurt Busch, Danica Patrick and Matt Kenseth looking for sponsors, a Home Advisor sponsorship would prove huge.

The Golden, Colorado-based company was founded in 2004, and now claims to be the nation;s largest home servies marketplace that matches professionals with consumers. It's publicly traded parent company, IAC, had $3.14 billion in revenue in 2016 with $41.3 million in net income, according to company information. Based in New York, IAC has more than 150 media brands, including several in the match or dating space -- such as Match.com and Tinder -- and news websites such as the Daily Beast.
